St. Peter Youth Ministry Center will host their 3rd Annual Mother’s Day Celebration at Le Foyer Ballroom with Anoush Catering.  For years the Ministry In His Shoes for the St. Peter Armenian Church has organized joyous occasions to celebrate and appreciate the Mothers of our community and around the World.

In His Shoes is an organization which rallies support for those who suffer in the world. In His Shoes was created in response to acts of Genocide perpetrated against the Armenian nation in 1915. “We believe those who have suffered evil have a unique responsibility to take action against injustice to others. Our actions are based on Christ’s principles of love, compassion and repaying evil with good.”

With 26 years of experience, Anoush Catering has perfected Mediterranean Cuisine and has also expanded its culinary selections to satisfy many diverse cultures within California. My Fair Wedding with David Tutera is a reality show that airs on WEtv starring David Tutera, a wedding planner for celebrities. In the show, David Tutera selects a bride to help create their dream wedding.  He makes all the alterations three weeks before the Wedding Day, causing a lot of drama and excitement for the soon to be Bride. The show premiered in October 2008 and has been one of the biggest hits on Wetv.

We took our celebrations to all corners of the world with menus inspired by Russian, Arabic, Persian and Armenian traditions and Anoush’s pursuit of culinary perfection. This year we celebrated New Year’s Eve events with fantastic entertainment by Shavo and Ara Martirosyan, an intimate and regal dinner dance, singing sensation Martik and a Cabaret Night in the snow and over 1,000 of our closest friends at all of our locations.  We’re still sifting through the glitter but we couldn’t wait any longer to announce  the winner of our first ever e-mail raffle giveaway. At our Le Foyer Ballroom we rung in 2012 with a full Russian winter wonderland, cabaret dancers, a figure skater in our very own private ice skating rink, giants on stilts that served champagne and a special New Year’s Eve menu that only Anoush Catering could provide. Dancing under our signature crystal disco ball and enjoying the Le Foyer ballroom in all of its glory all were treated to a night to remember by  bringing in the new 2012 year with the greatest introduction  they had ever seen. Glenoaks Ballroom wasn’t left behind and Shavo and Ara Maritorysan made sure to make the evening electric. A glamorous and beautifully chic atmosphere with a full course Anoush special New Year’s Eve menu meant that all involved were filled with only the finest in Mediterranean cuisine and top notch premium alcohol. For those looking for a more relaxed and refined atmosphere we treated guests at our Galleria Ballroom to an evening of fine dining and dancing all the way into 2012 and made sure that all glided along our dance floor the entire night through. Superstar Martik was featured at Brandview Ballroom and gave Anoush the grandest introduction to the newest member of our family and made sure that 2012 will be filled with even more fantastic memories that only Anoush at Brandview can bring. From russian red caviar to our signature flaming lamb crown we  dined fantastically. And the cherry on top of these decadent sundaes? A chance to win the iPad 2 in our email raffle giveaway. Each guest entered their email for a chance to win and with over hundreds of entrants in total the demand couldn’t have been higher.

With help from our friends at Random.org and their cloud hosting service that generates purely random contest winners we set about giving back and extending the holiday cheer to a new year. Originally designed for  lottery services Random.org has selected random winners from everyone from The Planetary Society to television stations. So who’s purely random for Anoush? Our first annual New Year’s Eve e-mail contest winner is Yvette Baroian and below is her story:

The construction and grand opening of the Huntley-Evans building that houses Brandview signaled a shift into the new and improved Glendale that we have all grown to know and love, moving away from an undeveloped town in 1887 to its incorporation as a city in 1906. With Huntley-Evans the city of Glendale gained many firsts – first department store, first three story building, first elevator – and it was able to help elevate Brand Boulevard and its surrounding area to the bustling urban metropolis it has become. At Brandview you not only have a classic setting replete with the latest in technology, lighting and top notch cuisine but you have a perfectly located event space that captures the city’s energy and nightlife.

Give Thanks
Thanksgiving is not just about turkey dinner, cranberries, and football.   It’s a time of reflection and sharing.  A Thanksgiving wedding can be perfectly full of tradition and family bonding.  Giving thanks for life’s blessings by choosing Thanksgiving time to become united as one would no doubt be an especially moving moment for everyone.

Incorporating the beauty of autumn and Thanksgiving into your wedding is easy as… pumpkin pie, of course. Use colors like red, gold, rust, burgundy, brown, tan, dark orange, and yellow.   Seasonal fall flowers like mums, daisies, and deeply-shaded roses, along with colored leaves, to create decorations and bouquets are perfect to continue the theme.   Decorations for a Thanksgiving wedding can include small gourds and pumpkins used as table markers, wheat sheaves, and cornucopia center pieces filled with seasonal produce and plants.  And of course, the meal should feature hearty seasonal food, but not necessarily turkey!

Christmas Bliss
The month of December is a magical month for weddings.  With every town and venue already adorned with twinkling lights, silver ribbons, and seasonal flowers, Christmas magic is everywhere!   Brides will find that they don’t even have to decorate their venues during this magical time, just go with the theme that is already there!  Like Thanksgiving, you can take advantage of your family already being together.  Make memories happen.  Have family and friends decorate a tree or gather around a fireplace and enjoy each other’s company before the wedding.

Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, the Huntley-Evans building in all its Art Deco glory was designed in 1921 by architect Alfred F. Priest.  Boasting the city’s first elevator, the three-story building at the corner of Brand Boulevard and Harvard Street was considered the city’s finest business structures of its day. In 1922, it became home to The Famous Department Store, Glendale’s first department store  and just about the whole city turned out for the Saturday night opening party to marvel at the grandeur as the Shrine orchestra played in the background.  Lovingly restored in 1995, the Huntley-Evans building continues its tradition of hosting some of the city’s grandest events as home to the Brandview Ballroom, Anoush Catering’s newest premiere wedding venue.
